The dress of Iranians was more influenced by a cultural and religious tradition from the ancient period and the jurisprudential and ethical dominance of the Zoroastrian religion than by Islamic culture. Based on the texts of the early Zoroastrian period, which reflect ethical and jurisprudential issues, one can discern matters indicating the reprehensibility of instances of women's immodesty and display of beauty in society. This is particularly evident in the Zoroastrian ascension text, the Arda Wiraz Namag. A similar issue is observed in comparable Islamic texts such as the Hadith of the Mi'raj (Ascension). This similarity lies in matters such as the display of beauty and immodesty, but many of the strict aspects of the Zoroastrian religion, especially concerning women's personal affairs, are absent in the Islamic text. Therefore, this research seeks to compare the culture of modesty in women in ancient Iran and Islam based on ascension texts. For this purpose, the two texts, the Arda Wiraz Namag and the Hadith of the Mi'raj, have been selected, and the issues relevant to this research have been quantitatively examined. Based on this, the authors have concluded that there are similarities between the two texts in matters that lead to the instability of the family, but in the biological and daily affairs of women, the Islamic religion adopts a more liberal approach.
